Our Mission

New markets and technologies come with inherent uncertainty. In early stages, it is rarely clear which segments will thrive or which business models will prove sustainable.

While there is a considered perspective on the opportunities for users of water drones, this project is intentionally developed without a revenue roadmap or predefined market positioning.

The goal is to build knowledge collaboratively with stakeholders across the value chain — working toward a capable and autonomous future in the water domain. Nero Explorer is designed to increase transparency and support well-founded decision-making.

Our Story

Having grown up around a seafarers’ mission led by my grandfather, a connection to the water and to maritime life has been a constant. Sailing, swimming, and windsurfing have long been part of my personal background.

In parallel, my professional career has been rooted in maritime transport logistics but I also gained valuable insights in autonomous and robotic systems — technologies designed to operate efficiently with minimal human input, optimizing routes, sequencing tasks, and making operational decisions independently.

Water drones are bringing these two areas together. The intersection of maritime application and autonomous systems creates a focused and relevant field of work — one that combines practical experience with a clear sense of direction.

Starting with a BLOG called Water Drones that is being hosted by Nero Explorer, a platform that is being developed and shall become an independent water drone comparison at a later stage.

Nero is the Greek word for water and the research for the Water Drone BLOG will also add up to the content that will be available in a structured form here later.

More developments will be coming soon!
